Charge Conference Celebration 2018: “Go For It!”

Joshua 6:1-7 New International Version (NIV)
6 Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in.

2 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”

6 So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant of the Lord and have seven priests carry trumpets in front of it.” 7 And he ordered the army, “Advance! March around the city, with an armed guard going ahead of the ark of the Lord.”

All sessions run from 2:00-4:30 pm
2:00-3:00 Training for all folks (leaders, potential leaders, pastors, oldies, newbies, know-it-alls, and don’t know nothin’s)
3:00-4:30 Ministry Celebration*

*This is a ministry celebration!  The focus should be to come together and celebrate what your church is doing.

Your church/charge family will sit together for voting purposes.

INVITE your church to participate in the conference. This is a celebration of the ministry being done by your church…they should be included! It is also an excellent time to connect with the neighboring UM churches and see what they are up to. There will be a time in which it will be open to anyone to share the moments God is working in their church community…this is a powerful testimony and everyone will benefit from having been there.

Emailing the Forms:

You don’t have to wait until you have them all done.  Send them in as completed. BUT please make sure the name of your church is in the subject line. “First Church” or “FUMC” is not helpful.  We have almost 100 churches, please spell it out for me, people.  I also really appreciate a signature/tag line in each email. Many (many, many, many) churches have the same type of email address, so unless you identify yourself, I have to try and figure out who is emailing me. Also, it is professional and should be standard.

Teamwork is Crucial!

All forms should be emailed to the district office.  Download and save the pdf files on your hard drive.  Open the file, type in your information and save your changes.  Signatures are not required for the emailed forms.

Hard copies of the forms that require signatures should be included in the folder for the DS at your conference.

Church Council

  • Profile of the Church
    This should be a year long process. Ask committees to answer the form questions and use the info to create a complete profile of your church.  This form lets Bishop know what your church is about.
    This form should be emailed to the district office and a signed hard copy should be included in the folder for the DS.
  • Business of the Church Conference
    In conjunction with the pastor
  • Agenda
    Pray over the agenda at Council.  Focus on celebration of ministry.  This is a place to share what’s happening!




Lay Servant Ministries

All Lay Servant Ministry forms will be included in DS folder. Make sure they are completely filled in and signed.

Do not email these forms to the district office.

The names should be listed for vote during CC.
